Heater core delivered today and just had my first couple of bowls. Not much to tell at mo as will have to reduce heating time as have been close to combustion on both occasions. Seems to hold the heat well, sure it was close to balls in respect to hits taken as for flavour canāt really comment until I get timing down.
Installation was a piece of piss and obviously a lot less stressful to handle than 40+balls. You still have to use screen to hold in place but that is of no issue to me.

So it turns out that my I donāt plan on getting one stance didnāt last long, and I got my shiny HC a couple of days ago
Iāve installed it on my Ti and had a few bowls with it now.
Iām getting more of a stony body high compared to the zirconia / ruby balls. I really felt it behind the eyes yesterday 
Iām still playing around with the YLL heat timings. 80w x42 seconds gave good results & fully extracted the bowl in one heat cycle. The top of the bowl was slighy darker but the rest of the AVB was a nice light brown
85w x35 gave similar results, but slightly less vapour. I also tried 85w x42 but that was getting a bit too toasty, so you canāt push it as hard as I do with 3mm rubies

Idk I just donāt get the stony hit from it like I do from a Simrell or DynaVap. Need to mess with it more.

I have just installed the heater in the Tempest V1 , according to mad heaters website its only compatible with V2. Havenāt actually tried it in there but canāt see why it wouldnāt work I just assumed it would not fit.
Update: Just tried in A V1 Head with upgrade kit and seems to work fine. Literally just tried it with couple of bowls and swapped back as like to run my 2 V1 together and canāt be arsed to keep changing settings on IH .

I gave my Tempest 1 head to a friend of mine. Let us know how it works 
Iāve just put the HC in my original ebony Tempest, and the core dose fit in the ball chamber.
The only thing I can think of is a slightly larger gap between the HC and ball screen, so might cause it to rattle around more?
Ps - the T2 ball screen is not as fiddly as the original. I had to flatten it a couple of times after screwing it down to much!

That was the only thing I could think of that the ball retaining screen on the V1 is a bit more temperamental and could come lose.

Currently running a hybrid: outer part of the titanium core filled with 2mm rubies. Pretty happy so far.

Iām still testing the heat core in the T1, and just put a few 2.5mm zirconia on top of the heat core.
It had a small gap between the HC and the ball screen, and the balls stops it rattling around.
I did one MTL cycle and it stayed hot for one and a half minutes, and I got 10 toaks before it cooled down. A second cycle at 65w got another 10 hits. The AVB was slightly dark on top but was evenly roasted underneath

Iāve always had the head wide open and stem set to use the direct mouthpiece
The revolve stem is great but it has so many options! It took a lot of experimenting when I first got it to find my favourite setting.
I might try stainless steel balls in the middle of the heat core next I think

I was thinking of selling a load of vapes and buying a 2nd T2 for the heatcore. But I already have a T1, so this is a massive bonus.
The heatcore fits in the T1 perfectly width wise?
Are you guys finding much difference vs balls?

Saw it with a new Tempest 2 SS slim.
Iāll grab it from Wesleypipes when he gets stock towards the end of September.
Theoretically, this should improve heat retention, right? That is my biggest complaint about the original core and what made it a no-go for me.
SS should hold the heat better, in theory.
Iām running the current one with balls in the inner core.
wait until you see the Tempest Slim or Mini Iāve seen today. if it isnāt an AI joke then thereās a newer stem coming out that is very Simrell adjacent in itās looks.
