Titanium “should” heat more evenly if it’s commercially pure elemental metal (g2), and I think conduction was the wrong word I was looking for, and more “heat transfer” rates I confuse myself sometimes lol
Grade 5 is a Ti alloy with aluminum and some other element I’ve never heard of, so definitely changes its thermal values
The science gets complicated. Spent a long while researching when trying to determine which ball media to use in my Tempest and various Stunner caps. There’s thermal conductivity, heat capacity, thermal effusivity, radiant heat, the surface area/size/mass and geometry of the media etc. It’s wild.
My simple conclusion is: The V8 engine on a stock family sedan.
Build wise this seems to be all Ti except for the indicator and ball tank part.
They stripped the T2 down to its strongest suits. Without the T1 or T2 stem the T2S seems to be able to handle 2 bowls (4 total heat cycles) before it gets too hot to handle.
There’s still much to discover.
Smoke wise it’s amazing. 80W 35s on the YLL 3.0 will get you pretttyy close to combustion and perfect OHE using a glass bong.
Pull the head off its on an oring, above the sleeve there is another threaded section that unscrews, pull the sleeve off, after thats off shove a poker up the other side of the stem and remove the spiral
Nice, thanks for posting. Wasn’t sure if I would go with the SS but I think Ti with SS core is probably the way to go (especially as I already own all the other balls/core which came with the bundle - still haven’t messed with any of them yet as the default zirc balls are so good)
The SS core is great! I’ve been using it in the T2 with half bowl setting. It fully extracts in one cycle and I can get about 12 small toaks off one cycle
My SS slim is out for delivery, and I also had a delivery of x3 medical strains today. It’s been a very good day
Ordered the full titanium bundle today. This will give me a second YLL 3.0 to play with my Tempest 2’s, other hot sticks and Herbcloud Crowns. The YLL has quickly become my most used device since it powers all my current favorites. The Fuji will have to wait.
