The QOQ & QOQ+ by Vaphit

I wanted to start a new discussion dedicated to the Vaphit QOQ, a vaporizer that I genuinely enjoy and think deserves more attention!

For those who aren’t familiar with it, the QOQ is a very affordable, manually heated, all-glass dry herb vaporizer. You can get the complete kit starting at just $60 USD! No batteries, no electronics, just glass, a torch, and a bit of technique.

One of its biggest advantages is flavor. Since the vapor path is entirely glass, you get an incredibly pure representation of your herb’s natural taste.

The only real downside, in my opinion, is the learning curve. You need to understand how to heat it properly. The trick is to watch the flame: when it changes from blue to orange, that’s your visual cue to stop heating. Once you master that technique, the experience is fantastic!

And here’s the exciting news! :eyes:

I’m also active in a French-speaking vaporizer group on Facebook, where the owner of Vaphit recently shared some interesting information with me.

Apparently, a new model called the Vaphit QOQ Plus is currently in development!

According to him, the new version will feature:

- A larger bowl :herb:

- A lower price than the original QOQ :money_bag:

I’ve attached a screenshot of my conversation with the owner of Vaphit so you can see exactly what he told me!

That’s excellent news, especially considering how affordable and capable the original already is!

After testing so many different vaporizers over the years, I can confidently say that, in my personal experience, the QOQ delivers one of the closest sensations to smoking a joint, without actually combusting.

There’s something about the airflow, the heating technique, and the overall experience that really reminds me of smoking a joint.

I’m definitely looking forward to seeing what the QOQ Plus brings to the table!

Love my QOQ! HATE THE MINIMUM CHARACTER REQUIREMENT.

The QoQ is excellent. I didn’t expect much when I bought it but I was very wrong. For some reason, this gets me more stoned than anything else with the same amount of weed. Sometimes I’m convinced I’ve combusted because the vapour is so dense.

The QoQ Plus is a definite purchase for me.

You can get the full kit here

you can also just buy the cap and/or bowl seperate.

I own this one, the OG vaphit. It only cost £16.95. It did not come with a stem but did come with lots of o rings.

It’s cheaper if you take it from Vaphit’s website:

Love it a lot even tho I’ve only heated it with a torch once, but it was very tasty and enjoyable and I’m just not much of a session style user or joint smoker. Even in my combustion days I was 85% bongs and 15% DHV until now 100% DHV

I use it as a stick vape bowl for the Universal Baller V2 stick vape adapter. Works fantastic and reaches as high as it gets closest to the quartz insert inside the UB housing. Makes it basically QOQ but with the UB as the heat source instead of a torch. I love doing dab sandwiches in the QOQ bowl and UB stick vape adapter, which has been the most efficient at that compared to everything else I’ve tried.

Anyway, If the bigger bowl QOQ “plus” doesn’t fit the UB stick vape anymore I may not get it, but if cheaper and can purchase the bigger bowl on its own than heck yeah I’m interested :raising_hands:t2:

I grabbed a QoQ a few weeks ago. I have only used it a handful of times, but the taste is fantastic. I use it to “taste” the strains i get or grow. Gets dirty quick, but i am pretty OCD with clean pieces so take that for wiw.

it is certainly in my current rotation.

Something I just noticed with the WPA. Its OD is the same as a POTV WPA for the Lobo, One, any that use that 12mm stemmed WPA.
The WPA for the QoQ has a much larger ID, therefor more airflow! SO, if you have a 12mm WPA for anything, check out the ID, in comparison.
Cheers

I would love a bigger QoQ!

Same. Also, I like to use it as my microdoser whenever I come from a break. I don’t make breaks often, but when it happens the QoQ is great for that first week or so. After that I tend to need more than what that QoQ can give me. Maybe I’ll try the bigger one in the future. Jokes aside, I also have a Terpcicle, so I don’t think getting the bigger QoQ makes sense for me, but I will keep an eye on it.

I’m very interested to see what they’ve come up with the plus. The Vaphit X tip+WPA was my first butane vape and I didn’t go on to get the QOQ because of the bowl size. I always liked the way the spiral stem looked so I hope they keep that.

The QOQ plus is available now for 50$ (I’m sharing a few photos here that someone posted in a Facebook group dedicated to dry herb vaping.) :

fuck…those look pristine!

With tariffs and shipping it’s $70 out the door….

Terpcicle might make more sense for some at $60, but I do love the QoQ

Welp

That didn’t take me long. I went ahead and ordered the QOQ+ since I think I’ll enjoy it as intended (as a stick vape) a lot more than the Original just based on airflow alone.

Thankfully in Canada we have free trade with China for consumer goods.

Airflow restriction is the biggest reason I don’t like stick vapes so this may be my answer, and I’m spoiled by the quartz Universal Baller inserts so this is definitely the the right stick vape for me :100:

I wonder if there is a way to make it heat with an IH using a metal sleeve of some sort like I’ve seen @DarthDomo using on the 14mm quartz cap

Someone on Reddit managed to make a glass Vaponic vaporizer work with an induction heater by wrapping induction-compatible metal wire around the glass heating section.

The idea is pretty simple: glass and quartz don’t heat directly through induction, but certain metals do. The induction heater heats the metal wire, which then transfers heat to the glass.

For the Vaphit QOQ, the same principle could theoretically work:

  1. Use induction-compatible metal wire, such as ferritic stainless steel (SS430).
  2. Form the wire into a coil or zigzag pattern that fits around the quartz cap.
  3. Make sure the wire stays securely positioned without putting excessive pressure on the quartz.
  4. The induction heater would heat the metal, which would then transfer heat to the quartz cap.

However, this hasn’t been verified on the QOQ. Uneven heating, overheating, or thermal stress could crack the quartz, so simply wrapping iron wire around the cap isn’t necessarily a safe or reliable solution.

The concept is promising, but it would need proper testing and temperature control before being considered practical.

I hear you and that makes sense.

The kit comes with an extra cap I can play around with and not a complete loss if it breaks. I’m positive that Vaphit will also sell spare parts like the cap individually eventually.

I think I have some 404 steel wire and mesh but it’s not magnetic so I’m not sure how well that metal would work. Somehow the titanium Crown heats evenly (with SiC balls ime especially) so maybe 404 steel might work even if not as well?

Edit: very strange. Seems titanium and some 316l metals I have heat in my IH while others don’t, but no 404 steel works at all. :person_shrugging: haha

I’ve got one on the way, along with an HX.

Titanium and 300 series stainless heat in induction heaters mainly via eddy currents. 400 series stainless should work best, but depending on what you use, the mass matters a lot. It might not be enough to trigger the heating to engage. A thin dab tool for instance isn’t always enough to trigger a YLL.

Better IMO to use stainless steel tubing with a slit cut down the side. 0.5mm wall. Quartz will be pretty resilient to thermal stress.

304/316 works fine in IH as long as the total mass is enough. Wire is much more likely to cause uneven heating.

So is this (qoq+) something I should add to my collection? That price ain’t bad even after shipping. I don’t know if i want it (I think I might) so I need y’all that are more familiar to influence me.
