It’s holding the temperature in the chamber. That is conduction.. Of course if you press the button while on that mode, you also get some convection as well. Versus the on-demand option where it only heats when you press the button.
To permanently engage the convection heater doesn’t make it a conduction mode, since the chamber (stem) isn’t heated.
Does it not work like the Solo or Air?
It’s holding temperature in the oven just like those vapes which are primarily conduction. It’s not 100% either way. But engaging that mode is definitely more conduction than convection at that point.
The temperature is held below the chamber, unlike hybrids like Arizer, where also the chamber itself is heated. Cool if it works for you, but it’s not at all comparable to real conduction or even hybrid vapor. Otherwise the TM2 would be my favorite electric portable.
OK, I see the the distinction. Either way is still somewhat a hybrid of conduction and convection in that mode. It makes a difference in effects at least…and easier for me to completely extract the bowl.

Can’t wait for your thoughts on the TM2
So here is my first impression of the Tinymight 2 Black
No cardboard box. Everything is neatly arranged on the inside of the travel case.
The vaporizer looks very well-made no flaws, everything feels high-quality, button and dial are working really smoothly. The stem is wide but has a nice mouthfeel. Just looking at it makes my heart beat faster and my mind goes “What a badass vaporizer”
I only vaped 2 lightly packed bowls, I liked temp 6. It’s my first true convection vape. I noticed I need to draw longer, but the vapor is very smooth with good flavor, no problems with coughing, no problems to make some clouds. And it hits you real good, I feel I’ll get used to it in no time.
I am very happy with my purchase, the TM2 black is well worth the money and , like Sade used to sing, a real smooth operator.

Congrats on your first convection vape! TM2 is a top tier convection vape.
I was going to mention in the other thread about convection vape technique that you do have to work a little bit harder for your hits than with a hybrid or full conduction device. I see you’re noticing that now.
It’s entirely normal as your weed can only get vaped when hot air is flowing through it while you’re drawing. It won’t simply “cook” in a bowl that isn’t actively heated.
I didn’t really want to influence your decision though by saying it’s “harder” or “more effort” to vape from a convection device because I don’t think it’s that significant. A little bit of practice will overcome any difficulties and the results are worth it. Now you can better appreciate what I mean about “when to kill the heater”. ![]()
I don’t have a TM2 Black..
yet
but I have loved my OG TM2 for the last couple years. It is still my top (battery) powered portable vape that I still prefer over my Venty, Frolic and Solo 3. I ride mine at 7 or 7.5. Still the closest I can get to a ball vape type hit in a Battery Portable. My Tempest 2 and Joystick have moved into my favorite portables to use these days beside my Crown ball portables. You’ll love the mighty TinyMight 2. That all black looks sweet! But all the Black versions look incredible. Congrats on the new BFF.
I wonder what kind of battery life you will get.
Of course it depends on your temp and speed, I vaped 4 bowls, at the end the purple light started, I tested temps between 4 en 6.5. And I forgot, I also did a burn off for a couple of minutes at max temp. So 6 bowls I think, which is ok for me
I keep your “convection vape technique thread” in my mind when I’m testing. I noticed beside the draw time you also need to draw a little harder. It’s a bit different that’s all. I do like the on demand technique you were talking about.
Congrats Sabina, that is Very Nice..Session mode is a blast too..No holding of the button & monster hits even way down low on the dial..this vape has very open airflow..i love that..not much effort to it…anyway, You take care & Enjoy.!!
Enjoy! And congrats on your new cloud machine.

I should have clarified I run mine only on Session mode as well. I find I get better performance that way then on demand too.
6 bowls is not Terrible I’ve heard people out there that are getting 2-3 bowls. I might have to take the leap on the TM2 if I could get 6-8 bowls per charge
6 to 8 on a single 18650 battery? That’s a lot. Just add some extra batteries and you are fine. On my crafty I was used 4 to 5 max, So 5 is more than enough for me
