Just got my TM2 back out after not using it for almost a year. The reason I do not use it as the batteries need to keep being changed all day and that gets to me and the fact i can use the stem I use for it in the Ruby Twist with unlimited power puts this on the shelf for me most for the time.

Ubik is full on-demand convection - #14 by KeroZen you see this one yet? also wood.. can get the bigger bat option.. would like to hear some more field reviews but it looks really nice… fit finish seems very clean

I grabbed the Black Walnut on release. It shipped with a spare batt and charger. I’m a bit of a “lightweight” (lol) So , I don’t see this as a major issue. Batt swap is simple. TM2’s to me are the best of both worlds, I can sip or slam.

Just a tip for anyone using the TM2 and rimmed basket screens. After finish each bowl wait a minute or two before taking out the stem as the metal expands when heated and the screen comes out and gets stuck in the TM2.
I tried using all different screens but these basket screens I like best.

I too prefer the basket screen. With the various stems picked up for the '22 TM2, the baskets have all fit tight. With the new Black Zirc stem, have found it loose. I use a thin o-ring to seal and secure it in the new stem.

It was the rimmed basket screens I swore by and used them for so long but after trying these
I am now converted as they seem to work much better. I only have 2 so need to order some.
The rimmed ones are decent as they add more conduction to the mix but they leave an air gap around the edge that I noticed a while ago and thought was better but apparently not.
This must be why my bowls took a bit to start off as a lot of the heat was going around the edge and down the stem.
Cant believe I was using those rimmed ones for so long as these ones just so much better. No wonder when you packed the rimmed ones it produced weird vapour when you first draw as all the hot air went down the sides.. I just sort of good used to it but now I know better and a lot more happy with this now.
This is the TM2 and Ruby Twist am using on same stem.

Won an Ebay auction few months back and bagged a TM2 with a selection of stems/bowls, used a Lobo before and though I liked it, the promise of TM2 vapour and flow was too much to resist. The Lobo was my proposed back up, after experiencing the Finnish vapour dragon I can’t go back to the Lobo. So now I need another back up that I will use! Black Walnut TM2 is winging its way to me from Germany. Getting a domed African blackwood mouthpiece to crown the zirconia stem from Azzwood Customs. Decided to bag one of their lovely t.bowl handles too. Properly excited and somewhat vindicated considering my burfday is coming up. As you all know, you can never have enough paraphernalia.

Well here we go, a day early. Have to say, out of the box, me not like, took oven apart, the screen was bowed out in the direction of the heater, that provides a darker roast than I would like so had to work my way round the edge of it, tamping gently, got it flat, perfect! If I was a newbie I’d be maybe a bit upset, but with no frame of reference. Anyway, meet Thor. Adorned with a mouthpiece from another stem for now. The African Blackwood that probably hasn’t been artisaned yet will be much nicer on the eyes. This isn’t bad though, don’t like the edge of the Zirconium bit rough, definitely needs something to take the edge off. The draw with the new cooling is real nice. My other TM2 is called Crusoe, as it has washed up on a couple of shores already. Wanted the black as it’s much more discreet and I think, stylish.
Package had an extra glass piece I didn’t expect, just gave it a go and it does a great job. FYI, the other end fits on a Lobo. I don’t know if this is the norm, anybody else get one? Ordered mine direct from TM. Oh and I did tighten that battery cap before use.

Ha! My new Black Walnut lasted for less than a day of normal use. Everything was vapetastic then it started taking longer and longer to reach operating temperature. This is the demo video Tinymight requested.

Damn brother that sucks. I’m sorry to hear that. I have the exact same color that I just received and luckily so far so good. This is my third TM2 I have purchased. I’ve had to get both of my others repaired at some point. Two of them broke because I dropped them on the button, which was my fault. This last one that needs to be repaired now just stopped heating without me dropping it.
They’ve always broken while in warranty so they were repaired for free. The process was fairly easy, but it’s still frustrating. After my son graduated college, he asked to use one and I never saw it again. He loves it and uses the shit out of it every day. I use it extremely hard every day.
I definitely would not have purchased this newer 2 1/2 version if the maker had gotten back to me about how to resolve my out of warranty repair. But it took over a month so I just bought a new one. A few days after my new one arrived I got an email stating it’d be 97 bucks to repair it out of warranty right here in the states. So I’m going to eventually send the broken one out for repair then me and my son will have a spare if we ever run into an issue.

Ha ha, “He asked to use one and I never saw it again”, that was funny, you raised a son with good taste. Yeah, I guess a lot of them get banged up in transit or perhaps it’s a batch of bad parts. I guess getting a return gives them a chance to do a bit of detective work. I reckon it’s just a new circuit board they’ll fit, the heater was working fine, it just wasn’t getting enough juice. I’ve got my Ebay TM2 to fall back on so no big deal really. Using the new stem with it, that’s the biggest improvement by far. They thought that out well.

lol ok so I didn’t say anything at the time but when my YLL broke the other day I thought “fuck it let’s try the TinyMight again it’s been a while” and I got it out and then that wouldn’t turn on either??? It’s been in its case for a few weeks but just stored carefully and never dropped or anything, tried a bunch of batteries, it recognises when a cable is plugged in but otherwise shows zero signs of life. I guess now I’ve dealt with the one broken thing problem I should get into this one

That’s harsh, hope you get it sorted. Gotta love that warranty period. If you can’t trust a Finn to fix something you’re f*cked. I’m sure you’ll be firing it up again soon. I bought direct from Tinymight so didn’t have to deal with a retailer, that complicates things.
