I nearly started crying when mine would not work when the temperature dial was right down as back then I only had the Mighty+ volcano and Arizer EQ and as we all know the TM2 kicks all their asses so I was very very upset until I realised
Black Walnut is back from it’s all expenses paid city break to Helsinki for some spa treatment. Relatively painless process. Got to wonder what went wrong with it, didn’t get a report on what happened. I’ve taken my old one apart and tbh there isn’t much in there. I expect they switch out the whole board if glitches develop. Enjoying sampling a new cultivar to me; “Petroleum” It slaps ferociously and leaves you completely discombobulated, unusual for medical but very welcome.
Well the black walnut redux worked for a couple of sessions before going down the same old heating lag dead end. I sent it off without a battery and it came back with one, don’t tell me someone just thought, “battery issue” without any investigation threw in a battery, saw it switching on and thought “Job done” Turning into a regular saga this.
Always have a back up plan, this one is 2nd hand from Ebay, totally out performs the new one as it actually works! Treated it to a Ti stem with the new V2 cooling unit, works a treat. So I know how good it can be, very frustrating.
It’s just these kind of issues that have kept me out of the TinyMight ecosystem! I have never owned a TM2 or any iteration of that model, wood types etc.
years ago bought the OG TM, very early in its release cycle, THREE(3) warranty replacements later, finally got a “working” unit. It was quickly shelved and I moved on to different vapes & manufacturers.
Some vapes just seem to have above “average” fails or issues and it would seem the TinyMight line/series is one of those. One trend I’ve seen is 10+ years of issues with the power button!?!? How is that possible? I’m not sure, based on various forums & postings, that it is an ongoing problem today? I have other issues as well like an electric portable with no fine temp. control, no screen etc. Now I understand there are those that like that aspect, analog type features.
I have zero fomo all these years and own over 40 different vapes, NONE of which ever suffered the defects of that one OG TM I purchased so many years ago. TM lost me forever, I don’t care if they came up with a nuclear powered vape that never needed charging and was the most innovative vape ever made and retailed for a single dollar, hard pass for me!
Hope you all don’t mind me sharing the saga as it continues. Got a reply from Tinymight along the lines of replaced PCB so it must be battery etc etc. Here’s my latest video in reponse. Definitely not a battery drain issue. The battery is a brand new 36A max output. More than enough. They wanted to issue a refund. Nah…I want two TM2s. One for at home and one that lives in my camera bag. Is that too much to ask?
Replying to my own post with this update. As I always hoped Tinymight ultimately has the customer’s back. My faulty unit is obviously a bit of an outlier as most folk don’t have issues. However once my second video was viewed and passed up the chain it prompted an immediate response from their Engineers who have been in touch with an entirely favourable outcome. Awesome!
This is exactly what I would expect from the makers of the TM2. I read time and time again that they fulfilled their promise to repair customers devices and always relied promptly to emails.
I only had one dealing with them when I could not get my device registered on the site. I had made the account and half registered the device and could not get the number little ID number to go in. Mailed them about this and to ask is my 10 year warranty still valid now that they only offer 3 years warranty. They mailed me back right away to say do not worry about the device not registering just keep hold of invoice and if it was bought before 2024 and said 10 years then they would repair it for 10 years.
I know in this thread and on FC thread there are a lot of people with problems with the TM2 but this is to be expected especially with such a popular vape and more people come to these threads with problems usually. I myself have never had any problems with my TM2 and was a heavy user of it for quite some time.
What I would say to anyone thinking of buying a TM2 especially people who currently use a solo 3 or Mighty+ - you will not be too happy as you need to change battery in this very often, you are lucky if you get 5 bowls from 1 battery.
Its horrible if you are a heavy user as changing the battery becomes part of the experience and you need to keep changing the battery to keep the whole thing going and it is just not cool. Would be ok if you are just using it a few times a day.
The other thing is, this is a seriously powerful vape and you can combust with it easily if you overfill the bowl or use it on too high temp and do not understand how to draw with this. Do not ever buy a Tm2 and take it to the beach or something the first day you get it to test, learn how to use it at home first or you risk combusting.
I had faith in them for sure and knew I’d be listened to after all the initial “customer says” scepticism that they’ve no doubt developed over the years. I did see a very negative Reddit post which veered into distasteful insults directed at TM. Chose to ignore that and went ahead and ordered anyway. Couldn’t believe exactly the same experience as the Redditor developed but at the same time figured that they have a wee parts problem to sort out and ordered regardless. As it happens my device may be the key to some work that will help them sort this issue out. I have to wonder how folk with a similar issue would be handled by other well known companies.
Ping, pong, ping…And it’s off to Helsinki again. Getting quite a few airmiles this DHV, quite the seasoned traveller. However I’m supposed to be getting a replacement so it should be all good. Crucially though, no sign of that yet. I know they are good for it though and hope the hidden clues in the duff device help them troubleshoot some issues going forward. Meanwhile I’ll continue to marvel at the new cooling system with my old TM2.
Back in the day I had a supervisor who used to say almost hourly, “It comes to those who wait.” Didn’t have a clue what he was on about at the time; but I think I do now.
